A Blessing Box has come to Grace United Methodist Church. This box, which contains canned goods, boxed and bagged food items, individual food packages and toiletry articles, is for families who are struggling financially between pay checks. Families, individuals, and those who receive items,  are encouraged to donate to the Blessing Box--helping one another in times of need.

The Blessing box began as a result of a dream in 1953 through Jessie Trout, co-founder and first executive secretary of Christian Women's Fellowship. This idea was an additional way to fund the broader mission of the church. Over the years, Blessing Boxes were kept in homes and offices across the church to enable people to express their gratitude for daily blessings given to others.

There are over 100 Blessing Boxes in Oklahoma. Members of Grace United Methodist mission committee contacted several churches who displayed these boxes. Everyone responded with one common positive comment, "People who receive items will return to donate food or toiletry articles."

Give what you can - take what you need.
